 Salary/Pay and Grade Pay - For officer posts, the payable salary will be Rs 56,100 - 1,77,500 per month. Further information about salary details is mentioned in the detailed advertisement.

Selection Method - For recruitment in the Union Public Service Commission, the candidate will be selected on the basis of their performance in written exam, intelligence and personality test/ personal interviews. Candidates must be prepared for these tests. 
 
Syllabus/ Exam Criteria -  The computer based exam for UPSC CDS will consist of following subjects - 
 
For Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), Air Force Academy (AFA)
  • English (100 Marks, 120 Minutes)
  • General Knowledge (100 Marks, 120 Minutes)
  • Elementary Mathematics (100 Marks, 120 Minutes).
For Officers Training Academy (OTA)
 
  • English (100 Marks, 120 Minutes)
  • General Knowledge (100 Marks, 120 Minutes).
